Hey!
Here’s your by-weekly 4 minute read to kick-start your week!
A quote that inspired me:
“Physical strength will get you through the day, but mental strength will make you unstoppable.”
Translation? You can bench-press a truck, but if your head isn’t in the game, you’re not winning anything worth keeping…. This one hit me hard because it’s true—whether you’re stepping into the dojo or the boardroom, your mindset is everything!
A life hack:
Physical strength is overrated. Mental strength? That’s the secret sauce.
Karate taught me this: You can train for years to perfect the punch, but without the grit upstairs, you’ll get knocked out by life’s curveballs. Business is no different. No one cares about your skills if your mindset folds under pressure.
Here’s how to toughen up:
💥 Failures = free lessons – In karate, getting your butt kicked is basically the curriculum. In business, every flop is a goldmine of lessons. Stop crying about it and start mining
💥 Stay cool under fire – When everything’s chaos, and someone’s barking for the Q4 numbers, your ability to keep calm is your superpower. No one wins a fight by panicking
💥 Show up, even on the ugly days – Building mental toughness is like doing push-ups for your brain. Consistency over perfection, baby. Some days suck, but they all count
💥 Get cozy with discomfort – Growth doesn’t live in your comfort zone. It’s out there, in the awkward, sweaty, “I want to quit” moments. Train your brain to keep going when it screams, “Enough!”
💥 Think long-term, always – Karate isn’t about a single match; it’s about becoming a master. And in business, the real wins come to those who keep showing up, playing the long game, and outlasting the competition
Remember: Physical strength might win battles, but mental strength wins wars. Build both, and you’re basically unstoppable.
What’s on my mind:
First of all, I want to say thank you. I’m beyond grateful for every single one of you who bought my book. Seeing it out in the world—and hearing how it’s already making an impact—means more than I can put into words…
But while I’m riding this book-launch high, I left the Techmeup event last week feeling a bit sad…. We’re talking about the future of tech, diversity, and bold ideas, and guess what? Too many companies are still stuck in analysis paralysis when it comes to hiring new talent.
Here’s the thing: Playing it safe won’t make your company innovative or competitive. It’ll just make you irrelevant. The best ideas come from fresh, diverse perspectives—not from sticking to the same tired hiring mold. So, to all the cautious corporate types: Stop treating talent like a risk. They’re an opportunity! and keep in mind that we ALL had to start our journey somewhere. Thanks god we had people who believed in us, and who gave us an opportunity!
And to you—yes, you reading this—don’t wait for the perfect job or the perfect timing. Go out there, kick down doors, and take up space.
The world doesn’t need you perfect; it needs you bold, messy, and unshakably you!
Enjoy your week!
