Hey!
Here’s your by-weekly 4 minute read to kick-start your week!
A quote that inspired me:
“Performance is never a coincidence. Those who seem to have it all are often the people who have a system that allows them to go out and get it” – James A. King
A life hack:
You don’t always need to make drastic decisions to change your life. Sometimes, taking small, consistent steps can lead to significant results. The key is consistency. Are you committed to giving your goals a fair chance, or are you just trying something once?
Did you know it takes at least two months to establish a new habit? Many people expect quick results and often give up when they don’t see immediate changes. To prevent discouragement, start with manageable steps and stay committed.
Here are seven small habits that have made a substantial difference in my life over the years:
Habit 1: Establish a Morning Routine
Start your day with intention to set a positive tone. Include exercise, reflection, or personal development activities. Try waking up an hour earlier to make time for this.
Habit 2: Plan Your Week
Identify weekly priorities and translate them into daily tasks to stay focused. Only say “yes” to what aligns with your goals.
Habit 3: Reflect Daily
Spend a few minutes reflecting on what went well, what to improve, and what you’re grateful for. This builds focus and positivity.
Habit 4: Read for 30 Minutes
Dedicate 30 minutes daily to reading. Choose monthly themes to deepen knowledge and grow personally.
Habit 5: Move Regularly
Incorporate movement twice a day, like a lunchtime walk or standing during meetings, to boost focus and refresh your mind.
Habit 6: Practice Meditation
Meditation enhances mental clarity and relaxation. Start with short sessions, experimenting with different styles as you go.
Habit 7: Limit Distractions
Set boundaries to maintain focus—check emails at set times, silence notifications, and use a dedicated workspace for deep work.
What’s on my mind:
The last two weeks have been a whirlwind. I’m on the brink of launching my new book, High Performance Lifestyle, and holding that first copy was surreal. But amidst the excitement, there’s a deeper layer to this journey.
Someone close to me is seriously ill, and it’s turned my world upside down. Between unpacking boxes and preparing for launch, I’ve found myself in hospital waiting rooms, surrounded by others quietly facing their own struggles. This experience has reminded me that life isn’t just about the highlights; it’s about navigating the shadows, which can be incredibly painful…..
This experience has filled me with gratitude for my own health, while also highlighting the fragility of life. It reinforces my mission: life is short, and we shouldn’t settle for less than our ultimate lives. Everyone deserves to live fully, embracing joy and purpose in the time we have.
This conviction is why I pushed to bring my new book to life. Now, I’m embracing the not-so-glamorous side of being a self-publisher! Sure, holding that book for the first time was thrilling, but let’s keep it real—self-publishing means I’m also running my own mini logistics operation.
Imagine boxes arriving, hauling them into my home-office, and transforming my workspace into a stockroom! No fancy book tours for me—just hard work, dedication, and, yes, a few sore muscles. I’ve officially been promoted to Chief Warehouse Officer!
I can’t wait for the official release on November 6th (starting with the Dutch version), and if you want to join me on this journey, you can still pre-order your copy now!
Enjoy your week!
